In 1988 a group of Booker T. Washington high school students interviewed 13 residents of Vine City about the plans for the 1992 Georgia Dome. In 2015, Community Historians interviewed 10 residents, policymakers and community leaders about the 2017 Georgia Dome and their memories of the neighborhood. These interviews have been laced together with historical analysis and archival material. It is our hope that this exhibit, meant to give voice and power to the residents of English Avenue and Vine City, reveals the complexity of history and honors the power of memory in shaping it."

From Herndon Homes to two Georgia Domes: 100 Years of Westside History is an exhibit on the history of English Avenue and Vine City, collected by Historic Westside Cultural Arts Council's Community Historians in collaboration with Georgia Tech's Participatory Publics Lab and historian Todd Michney.

limited_html
An exhibit on the history of English Avenue and Vine City, collected by Historic Westside Cultural Arts Council's Community Historians in collaboration with Georgia Tech's Participatory Publics Lab and historian Todd Michney.
{"472171":
http://www.tlwarc.hg.gatech.edu//sites/default/files/images/from_herndon_homes_to_two_georgia_domes_1_0.jpg
image/jpeg
path_740":"http://www.tlwarc.hg.gatech.edu/sites/default/files/styles/740xx_scale/public/images/from_herndon_homes_to_two_georgia_domes_1_0.jpg?itok=IuLnvEhR
472171
mailto:historicwestsideculturalarts@yahoo.com">historicwestsideculturalarts@yahoo.com.
