Jan. 13: MLK Keynote Lecture
Jeff Johnson, a journalist, activist, and political commentator, will speak on the topic of “Unclaimed Legacy: Who Will Lead the Next Social Movement?”

Feb. 1: Student Day at the Capitol
Tech students gather with legislators to discuss the 2016 legislative session.
Feb. 2: Campus Services Carnivale
Campus Services hosts this student appreciation event, with free food and other goodies.
Feb. 9: Social Enterprise Career Fair
Students looking for a job in the social entrepreneurship space should plan to attend this fair.
Feb. 6: Postsecret: The Show
The website comes to life in this traveling exhibition, which is making a stop at Tech.
Feb. 11: SCPC Night at the Aquarium
Stay tuned for information on tickets for this one-night event, when the Georgia Aquarium is open exclusively to the Tech community.
Feb. 18: Ivan Allen Jr. Prize
Tech celebrates this annual award for social courage, now in its fifth year, with a day-long symposium. This year’s Ivan Allen Prize recipient is Nancy Parrish.
Feb. 18: Navy SEAL Challenge
Could you be a Navy SEAL? Try the challenge at the Campus Recreation Center.
Feb. 19–20, 25–27: Five Faces for Evelyn Frost
DramaTech Theatre presents its first studio show of the semester, Five Faces for Evelyn Frost.
Feb. 23-24: Commencement Fair
If you’re graduating this semester, this is your one-stop shop for all graduation-related needs.
March 16: InVenture Prize Finals
Tech’s premier innovation competition takes place at the Ferst Center and is aired live on television.
March 21-25: Spring Break
Campus will remain open, but students get a break from classes.
March 29: Take-a-Prof to Lunch
If there’s a professor or staff member you’d like to thank, you can take them to lunch on the cheap through the Student Center.
March 31: Sting Break
This annual campuswide funfest takes place on Fifth Street in Tech Square.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month (Take Back the Night – date TBD)
April 6: ACC Innovation Challenge
All ACC schools will participate in this inaugural event, hosted at Tech.
April 8: Ideas 2 SERVE Finals
Students will showcase their innovations and ideas on the theme of social entrepreneurship.
April 11: When the Whistle Blows
The Tech community gathers to remember those who have died during the past year.
April 14: Rec-a-Palooza
The Campus Recreation Center hosts its annual end-of-year student celebration.
April 15: Ramblin’ On
All students graduating during the 2016 calendar year are honored at this free Student Alumni Association event.
April 19: SAA Gift to Tech Celebration
The Student Alumni Association awards its annual philanthropic gift to a campus entity or idea that is voted on by students.
April 20: Student Honors Celebration
High achievers, both undergraduate and graduate, are honored at this annual spring event.
April 22: Earth Day
The Southeast’s largest Earth Day festival is hosted right in the middle of campus.
April 22: Faculty/Staff Honors Lunch
Standout Tech employees are honored at this annual event.
April 28 – May 5: Final Exams
This year’s final schedule is different from in years past and includes reading periods, thanks to recent changes to the Academic Calendar.
April 30: Pi Mile
The annual 3.14-mile road race is hosted by the Alumni Association.
May 2: Relaxation Fest/Midnight Breakfast
The Student Center Programs Council hosts these de-stressing events, with free food. Register early for a Midnight Breakfast slot.
May 6: Ph.D. Hooding
Tech celebrates its doctoral candidates earning their hoods.
May 6: President’s Graduation Celebration
Join graduates on Tech Green to celebrate their Commencement weekend.
May 6-7: Commencement
Undergraduate ceremonies require tickets, but the graduate ceremony is open to all.
