Local experts to agree, but point to the lack of space and pollution.\u0022\u003C\/p\u003E\u003C\/blockquote\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMacau\u0027s news reported Perry Yang, Steven Quan and Zhengwei Li\u0027s findings about using solar energy design guidelines to offset their carbon emission in the city of Macau, and doing this by selecting high performance building typology in their recently reclaimed waterfront development area.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAuthors of the journal article include Zhengwei Li (Ph.D.\u0026nbsp;In Architecture from Georgia Tech 12\u2019, previous TA for the studio project), Steven Quan (Ph.D.\u0026nbsp;Candidate of\u0026nbsp;City and Regional Planning) and corresponding author, Perry Yang (Associate Professor and Director of Eco Urban Lab, School of City and Regional Planning and School of Architecture).\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech received a $30,000 sponsorship from Macau Urban Planning Institute to support the research. \u0022We ran an Ecological Urbanism Studio in 2011\u003Cem\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E \u0027Global Cities Benchmarking on Carbon Footprints\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/em\u003E\u0027 to benchmark\u0026nbsp;Macau\u2019s urban energy-carbon performance and other global cities.
