Since entering into force almost two decades ago, the CWC and its members states have successfully destroyed more than 90% of the world\u2019s declared chemical weapons. Once a treaty is ratified, does the real work begin?\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMs. Carmen Kifer is a chemical engineer who works as a civilian for the US. Army in the Chemical Materials Agency (CMA). Ms. Kifer joined the CMA\u2019s Center for Treaty Implementation and Compliance (CTIC) in 2008 to manage compliance with the CWC for the safe assessment, storage, and elimination of chemical weapons (CW) in the US.
