  <title><![CDATA[The Graduate Student's Guide to Personal Finance]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Financial concerns are one of the largest causes of stress for university students, graduate students in particular. &nbsp;The Office of Graduate Studies and the Graduate Student Government Association have partnered to bring <a href="http://talks.gradstudentfinances.org/about-emily/">Emily Roberts, Ph.D.</a> to campus to present her talk: "The Graduate Student’s Guide to Personal Finance." After earning her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke in 2014, she has become an expert and speaker on the topic of personal finance. She has also founded two well-respected finance websites: <a href="http://www.phdstipends.com/">PhD Stipends</a>&nbsp;and <a href="http://www.gradstudentfinances.org/">Grad Student Finances</a>.</p><p>Presentation description: This comprehensive presentation teaches stipend-receiving graduate students the basics of personal finance and how they can set and reach financial goals during grad school. This talk is appropriate for graduate students of all years as well as undergraduates who are interested in funding graduate school through an assistantship.
