{"505761":{"#nid":"505761","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Zyrobotics Wins $750,000 NSF Grant","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp class=\u0022p1\u0022\u003EThe National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded a $750,000 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II grant to Zyrobotics, a company that got an initial boost from the Atlantic Pediatric Device Consortium (APDC).\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p1\u0022\u003ELaunched in September 2013 with APDC support by Ayanna Howard, professor in the Georgia Institute of Technology\u2019s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the company is commercializing assistive technology that enables children with limited mobility to operate tablet computers, smartphones, toys, gaming apps, and interactive robots.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p1\u0022\u003EBased in the Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience, APDC provides a national platform to translate ideas through the product development pathway all the way to commercialization.
