About 35 participants from a wide spectrum of engineering specialties worked with experts in the field of sustainable engineering and shared their experiences to advance the state of the art in sustainable engineering education. The two day workshop is an annual event offered by the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/csengin.syr.edu\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003ECenter for Sustainable Engineering\u003C\/a\u003E. The CSE is a partnership of five universities: \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.syracusecoe.org\/coe\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003ESyracuse University\u003C\/a\u003E (lead institution), \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/sustainability.asu.edu\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EArizona State University\u003C\/a\u003E, \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.cmu.edu\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003ECarnegie-Mellon University\u003C\/a\u003E, \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/sustainable.gatech.edu\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EGeorgia Institute of Technology\u003C\/a\u003E, and the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.utexas.edu\/sustainability\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EUniversity of Texas at Austin\u003C\/a\u003E and is supported by the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/awardsearch\/showAward?AWD_ID=0442618\u0026amp;HistoricalAwards=false\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003ENational Science Foundation\u003C\/a\u003E and the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.epa.gov\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EEnvironmental Protection Agency\u003C\/a\u003E. The Center is dedicated to helping engineering professors update their courses, and develop new ones, to account for the rapidly changing global conditions that are transforming the practice of engineering.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWorkshop participants are encouraged to not only apply what they learned in the workshop to their curriculum, but to share their curriculum as modules for anyone to use through the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/csengin.syr.edu\/cse-electronic-library\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003ECSE\u0026rsquo;s Electronic Database\u003C\/a\u003E. Modules are peer reviewed in a similar fashion to an academic journal article.
