  <title><![CDATA[Team Curious Wins Imagine Cup MashUp Prize]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Team Curious, a Georgia Tech pairing of a College of Computing<br />
alumna and a mechanical engineering student, is getting worldwide<br />
recognition after winning the MashUp category of the 2009 <a href="http://imaginecup.com/Support/exploreimaginecup.aspx" target="_blank">Imagine Cup</a><br />
competition, sponsored by Microsoft Corp. Team Curious is the only U.S.<br />
group to receive first place honors in one of the nine invitational<br />
categories. Winners were announced July 7.</p>
<p>Members of <a href="http://teamcurious.com/index.php" target="_blank">Team Curious</a> include Kathy Pham, a bachelor's and master's<br />
computing graduate, and Marc Pare, an undergraduate mechanical<br />
engineering major. The program they developed aggregates information<br />
from traditional news sources on the Web and ultimately presents an<br />
authoritative view.</p>
<p>Team Curious was selected from a total of 444 students from 149 teams<br />
representing 70 countries and regions around the world. The Imagine Cup<br />
2009 Worldwide Finals were held in Cairo, Egypt, and included the<br />
following categories: Software Design, Embedded Development, Game<br />
Development, IT Challenge, Robotics and Algorithm, MashUp, Photography,<br />
Short Film and Design.</p>]]></body>
