Madduri\u2019s research in computational\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nscience and high-performance computing beat out 72 other submissions to\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nwin one of two prizes in the competition.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe main track of IPDPS is highly competitive and contains peer-reviewed papers submitted from researchers worldwide. Only 105 of the submitted 410 papers were accepted for presentation. As a testament to Georgia Tech\u2019s strength in parallel and multicore computing, four papers from Computational Science and Engineering division were presented as regular papers:\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ESNAP, Small-world Network Analysis and Partitioning: An Open-Source Parallel Graph Framework for the Exploration of Large-Scale Networks\u003Cbr \/\u003EDavid Bader (CSE); Kamesh Madduri (CSE)\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EHigh Performance MPEG-2 Software Decoder on the Cell Broadband Engine\u003Cbr \/\u003EDavid Bader (CSE); Sulabh Patel (Electronic Arts, USA)\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EFinancial Modeling on the Cell Broadband Engine\u003Cbr \/\u003EVirat Agarwal (CSE); Lurng-Kuo Liu (IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, USA); David Bader (CSE)\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EPerformance Characterizations and Optimization of Parallel I\/O on the Cray XT\u003Cbr \/\u003EWeikun Yu (ORNL), Jeffrey Vetter (ORNL \u0026amp; CSE) and Sarp Oral (ORNL)\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIPDPS attracts over 600 of the top scientific researchers in the field for a week packed with technical talks and demonstrations.\u00a0 In 2009, the meeting will be held in Rome, Italy, and in 2010, David Bader (CSE) will serve as the General Chair when the symposium comes to Atlanta.\u003C\/p\u003E","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":"","field_summary":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EKamesh Madduri won the best poster award in the Ph.
