  <title><![CDATA[CoC Alumnus Receives $50,000 for Alzheimer’s Research]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Anind Dey (Ph.D. in Computer Science, 2000) has been awarded a<br />
research grant from Microsoft’s Intelligent Systems for Assisted<br />
Cognition RFP for his work on creating a system to help patients with<br />
Alzheimer’s recall episodic memories more effectively. Dey, now an<br />
Assistant Professor in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Institute<br />
at Carnegie Mellon University, is developing and evaluating a memory<br />
prosthesis that uses contextual cues and automated techniques for<br />
determining what cues will help with memory recollection.</p>
