51455 news 1265751839 1475895893 <![CDATA[College of Computing Faculty Named Best Georgia Tech Freshman Professor]]> (July 6, 2007) - College of Computing Instructor Cedric Stallworth has been named Best Freshman Professor for 2007 by the Georgia Tech Freshman Activities Board (FAB), a freshman leadership organization that is part of Georgia Tech Housing's Freshman Experience program.

The Best Freshman Professor Award is given every year by FAB. The 30 freshman members of FAB come up with a pool of nominations from across campus and the nominees are then featured on the FAB website where all freshman are asked to vote for the winner. The nominees are professors who primarily teach freshman level courses (ones that are typically composed of all mainly freshman and that are typically taken during the first year at Tech) and who the FAB members feel do an  excellent job of teaching and engaging the students in the college  classroom. After the voting is completed, the winner is selected based  on the most votes and is presented with the award the Georgia Tech awards ceremony at the end of the spring semester.
