51928 news 1265752383 1475895926 <![CDATA[GTISC Renewed as NSA Center of Excellence]]> The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security have announced that the Georgia Tech Information Security Center (GTISC) will remain among the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education. Designation as a Center is good for three academic years, after which a university must reapply. GTISC was initially designated as a Center in 2001, reapplied and was successfully evaluated against strengthened criteria.

Ten additional university centers, including Kennesaw State University’s Center for Information Security Education and Awareness, were added to the fraternity, bringing the total number of such centers to 59 in 27 states.
