This annual event recognizes the staff and faculty in the college for fantastic work and achievements over the last year.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis year, two Building Construction staff and faculty were recognized.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EProfessor Pardis Pishdad-Bozorgi received the \u201cCOA Outstanding Faculty Award\u201d and Lorie Wooten was honored with the \u201cCOA Outstanding Staff Award\u201d.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cIt is rare for a unit to receive both outstanding faculty and staff awards at the same time. This talks of the high quality people we have in our School, as well as the high quality environment for their professional growth and success\u201d, said Daniel Castro, Professor and Chair, School of Building Construction.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EBoth Wooten and Pishdad-Bozorgi were thrilled with their awards.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ELorie Wooten, Administrative Professional, Sr. said, \u201cI am very appreciative of this award. \u0026nbsp;It is very gratifying for my contribution to be recognized in this way. \u0026nbsp;I would also like to congratulate each of the other winners and nominees on a job well done.\u201d Wooten continued, \u201cLooking forward to continue supporting our graduate students and faculty in their academic and professional endeavors. \u201c\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EPardis Pishdad-Bozorgi, Assistant Professor in the School of BC, was also honored by her recognition. \u003Cbr \/\u003E \u201cI am truly honored and humbled to be the recipient of the 2016 Georgia Tech College of Architecture Outstanding Faculty Award. This is a wonderful recognition by my peers and I feel privileged and grateful for the support and encouragement I have received from my mentors and supervisors, who have enabled my professional growth so that I can reach my full potential.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWhen asked \u201cwhat\u2019s next\u201d, Pishdad-Bozorgi continued, \u201cFor me, nothing is more rewarding and refreshing than improving and learning every day. I will continue challenging myself to explore and conduct research and teach in the areas, which I am most passionate about, and of course, are of value adding to the field and the society. My plan is to continue my research work on Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), Trust-Building, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Flash Track (Faster Fast Track) implementation. I will also continue teaching the two graduate level courses I have developed, including: \u201cIntegrated Design and Construction Process\u201d, which incorporates iTWO 5D modeling technology and \u201cBuilding Information Modeling\u201d.
