Students who have timely filed a cap-subject H1-B with their employers should submit the Cap-Gap I-20 Extension e-form in iStart. OIE will review these requests and confirm if the Cap-Gap is approvable in SEVIS. Please do not request OIE to “check your status in SEVIS”, if you would like to see if you are eligible for the Cap-Gap please first submit the e-form.
