Omer Inan Named to CETL Teaching Fellows Program

Omer Inan, an assistant professor in the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), has been named to the 2016-2017 Class of 1969 Teaching Fellows Program.

Facilitated by Tech’s Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, this program gathers together a small, interdisciplinary group of early career faculty members who want to develop their full teaching potential.

The program aims to broaden faculty members’ perspectives with insight into evidence-based best practices and exposure to new and innovative teaching methods. During this academic-year-long program, the Teaching Fellows will explore various aspects of teaching and learning in weekly seminars, receive private assistance with teaching, and develop and pilot initiatives that can be used for the education component of major award applications.

Inan joined the ECE faculty in 2013 and is a member of the bioengineering technical interest group. He teaches undergraduate courses in biomedical instrumentation, biosystems analysis, and the Introduction to ECE Design course for freshmen, and he has developed and taught an ECE graduate course, Biomedical Sensing Systems. Inan was also recently recognized with the 2016 Lockheed Martin Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award.
