You’ll begin seeing this change September 2, 2016, with rollout completion expected by the end of the month.

How does this affect me?

Previously, we sent external sharing invitations via the Microsoft Online Services Team address. We have often heard that this e-mail address is confusing and that users have trouble finding invitations that have been sent to them. To address these issues (and to make our external sharing mails consistent with our internal sharing mails), we will now be sending external sharing invitations via the Exchange Web Services. Sharing invitations will now come from a SharePoint owned "No Reply" address.

What do I need to do to prepare for this change?

No changes are required at this time. External users will continue to receive invitations with no change in the acceptance flow.

  <status>1</status> <created>1473240117</created> <gmt_created>2016-09-07 09:21:57</gmt_created> <changed>1476103125</changed> <gmt_changed>2016-10-10 12:38:45</gmt_changed> <promote>0</promote> <sticky>0</sticky> <teaser>Updated feature: We are changing how external sharing invitations are sent</teaser> <type>news</type> <sentence>Updated feature: We are changing how external sharing invitations are sent</sentence>

  <dateline>2016-09-07T00:00:00-04:00</dateline> <iso_dateline>2016-09-07T00:00:00-04:00</iso_dateline> <gmt_dateline>2016-09-07 00:00:00</gmt_dateline>

  <sidebar></sidebar>

  <location></location> <contact>
https://getit.oit.gatech.edu/
</contact> <boilerplate></boilerplate> <boilerplate_text></boilerplate_text> <media> </media> <hg_media> </hg_media> <related>

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Manage-external-sharing-for-your-SharePoint-Online-environment-C8A462EB-0723-4B0B-8D0A-70FEAFE4BE85?ad=US&rs=en-US&ui=en-US

Manage external sharing for your SharePoint Online environment

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Configure-notifications-for-external-sharing-for-OneDrive-for-Business-b640c693-f170-4227-b8c1-b0a7e0fa876b?ad=US&rs=en-US&ui=en-US

Configure notifications for external sharing for OneDrive for Business

      </related> <files> </files> <groups> <group id="174291">OIT</group> </groups> <categories> </categories> <news_terms> </news_terms> <keywords> <keyword tid="167432">office365</keyword> <keyword tid="4112">oit</keyword> <keyword tid="172145">onedrive</keyword> <keyword tid="167433">SAAS</keyword> <keyword tid="172146">sharepoint</keyword> </keywords> <core_research_areas> </core_research_areas> <news_room_topics> </news_room_topics> <files></files> <related></related> <userdata> </userdata></node><node id="573531">
Updated Feature: SharePoint Modern Lists
  <uid>32504</uid>

As previously announced, we are now starting the rollout of the UI for Modern Lists to production this week.
