{"54800":{"#nid":"54800","#data":{"type":"news","title":"BusinessWeek: Georgia Tech Among Top 50 Undergraduate Business Programs","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech College of Management is\nranked one of the nation\u2019s Top 50 undergraduate programs in business,\naccording to the latest rankings of \u003Cem\u003EBloomberg\u003C\/em\u003E \u003Cem\u003EBusinessWeek\u003C\/em\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech rose to 50\u003Csup\u003Eth\u003C\/sup\u003E,\na one-point jump over 2009, and is 19th among public universities. Of\nthe 400 accredited business schools in the nation, 139 were eligible\nfor ranking in 2010. The rankings are based on surveys of recruiters\nand student satisfaction as well as job placement statistics and\nmeasures of academic quality.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EIn the Recruiter category, Georgia Tech rose from 45\u003Csup\u003Eth\u003C\/sup\u003E to 21\u003Csup\u003Est\u003C\/sup\u003E.\n\u201cWe consistently hear from recruiters that they are impressed with how\nexceptionally well our graduates perform within their organizations, so\nit is nice to see this recognized in the ranking,\u201d says Nancy Gimbel,\ndirector of the College of Management\u2019s Undergraduate Program.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;Students surveyed awarded the College an \u201cA+\u201d grade in Job Placement and a \u201cA\u201d for Teaching Quality.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u201cAlthough I am happy to see continuous improvement in the \u003Cem\u003EBusinessWeek\u003C\/em\u003E\nrankings, I know that no ranking is truly representative of the many\nexceptional facets of our undergraduate program,\u201d Gimbel says. \u201cIn\nrecent years, we have greatly enhanced advising services and\ndramatically expanded career services and freshman recruiting. We\u2019re\nconsistently seeking ways to improve our program, streamline\noperations, and provide an exceptional undergraduate experience for our\nstudents.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ECollege of Management Dean Steve Salbu adds: \u0022I am extremely proud of the excellent quality of the business school\u0027s \nundergraduate program.
