{"555191":{"#nid":"555191","#data":{"type":"event","title":"HSOC \u201cAmerica in the World\u201d Lecture Series: Steve Usselman","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EDr. Steve Usselman, Professor of History in the School of History and Sociology at Georgia Tech, will present\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003E\u0026ldquo;Global Transport and Logistics Since 1945.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EA historian of technology,\u0026nbsp;innovation, and public policy,\u0026nbsp;Steve Usselman\u0026nbsp;studies American\u0026nbsp;economic\u0026nbsp;development and the dynamics of global capitalism since 1815.\u0026nbsp;He teaches courses on Technology in America; Law, Technology, and Politics; Business Organizations and Political Economy; and Engineering in History.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EUsselman\u0026#39;s publications include \u003Cem\u003ERegulating Railroad Innovation: Business, Technology, and Politics in America, 1840-1920; The Challenge of Remaining Innovative: Lessons from Twentieth Century American Business \u003C\/em\u003E(with Sally Clarke and Naomi Lamoreaux), and \u003Cem\u003EThe Rise of Big Business, 1860-1920 \u003C\/em\u003E(forthcoming with Glenn Porter).
