MAB SEGREST\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIn honor of Women\u0027s History Month, Dr. Mab Segrest, the Fuller-Matthai Professor of Gender and Women\u0027s Studies at Connecticut College, will be giving a talk entitled \u0022Gender, \u0027Lunacy Administration,\u0027 and the Milledgeville State Hospital.\u0022  Dr. Segrest is a scholar of gender and sexuality, critical race theory, and social movements.  She is the author of several books (including the award-winning Memoir of a Race Traitor) and numerous scholarly articles, and is currently a Fellow at the James Weldon Johnson Institute at Emory University.  Her current research links her interests in Southern studies and political movements.  Using archival materials and oral histories, Segrest explores the links between the African-American civil rights movement and the movement for the rights of psychiatric patients.
