{"56270":{"#nid":"56270","#data":{"type":"news","title":"GT Team Receives Grant to Create Nanotechnology Certificate Program","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EA team of Georgia Tech faculty and academic professionals has received a 2-year grant from the National Science Foundation to establish a Nanotechnology Certificate Program for undergraduate students at Tech. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThis 15-credit program of lecture, laboratory, and research courses brings together faculty working in different areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology to develop a comprehensive educational package that prepares Tech students for rewarding careers in nanotechnology-enabled industries. The program, to begin in 2009, will be open to College of Engineering and College of Sciences juniors and seniors. One unique feature of the program is the hands-on Nanosystems Laboratory course, which will be held in the Ford Environmental Science and Technology Building. The program is being developed by Professors Sankar Nair (ChBE), Ian Ferguson (ECE), Peter Hesketh (ME), Elisa Riedo (Physics), Z.L. Wang (MSE), John Zhang (Chemistry); and Drs.
