567461 news 1472035914 1475896946 <![CDATA[Georgia Tech Grad Student Wins National Triathlon Title]]> Mechanical engineering grad student Christopher Douglas topped the field at the 2016 USA Triathlon Sprint National Championships, winning his first ever overall national title.

Douglas posted the fastest time from a field of over 1,300 athletes. The Sprint National Championships consists of a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5-kilometer run. Only a day prior, Douglas finished second overall in the Olympic-distance race

Douglas is a research assistant in the Ben T. Zinn Combustion Laboratory at Georgia Tech. He also trains and competes with the Georgia Tech Triathlon Team.
