Sloan Foundation\u0027s Minority Ph.D. (MPHD) program and become a Sloan Fellow.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe MPHD program was established by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation\u0026nbsp;in 1995 to assist efforts to diversify the U.S.\u0026nbsp;Ph.D. degree-holding workforce by increasing the recruitment, retention, and graduation of\u0026nbsp;underrepresented minority doctoral students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The MPHD program is managed by\u0026nbsp;National\u0026nbsp;Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME).\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EGaray has been selected for this award\u0026nbsp;based on his academic records, prior\u0026nbsp;awards,\u0026nbsp;and current research. He received his B.S. degree in physics and electrical engineering from Florida International University\u0026nbsp;and M.S. in ECE from the University of Florida. Garay\u0026nbsp;joined the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech in 2015. He is currently a Ph.D. student in the Georgia Tech Electronics and Micro-System Lab (GEMS) directed by\u0026nbsp;Hua Wang, who holds the Demetrius T. Paris Junior Professorship. Garay\u2019s Ph.D.\u0026nbsp;research focuses on\u0026nbsp;zero-power\u0026nbsp;RF\/mm-wave signal processing and\u0026nbsp;multi-functional digital transmitter systems\u0026nbsp;for next-generation\u0026nbsp;radar and\u0026nbsp;5G wireless\u0026nbsp;communication. He\u0026nbsp;received the Georgia Tech\u0026nbsp;Presidential Fellowship in 2015 as the highest honor for\u0026nbsp;new graduate\u0026nbsp;students accepted to the Ph.D. programs at Georgia Tech.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Alfred P. Sloan Foundation is a philanthropic, not-for-profit grant-making institution based in New York City. The foundation was established in 1934 by Alfred Pritchard Sloan, Jr., then-President and Chief Executive Officer of the General Motors Corporation.\u0026nbsp;The Alfred P.
