He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science at Princeton University in 2003. He has a forthcoming book to be published by Cambridge University Press titled, \u0022The Quality of Democracy in Eastern Europe: Public Preferences and Policy Choices.\u0022 He has also published a book titled, \u0022From Good King Wenceslas to the Good Soldier Svejk: A Dictionary of Czech Culture (Central European University Press, 2005)\u0022. His main fields of interest are Eastern Europe, democracy, democratic institutions, and social policy.
