The award recognizes distinguished and outstanding service to the Institute and the community.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAligning with the theme of AIA Georgia\u0027s annual conference, \u0022Changing Practice, Changing Communities,\u0022 Green was lauded for making a difference in the community by getting involved.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Chapter noted Green\u0027s brilliant and refreshing perspective to the planning and design issues facing communities today, and his intensity combined with the desire to find pragmatic solutions to critical urban issues which has translated a responsible and successful professional practice. Further, the Chapter noted Green\u0027s passion and intensity for academic pursuits related to architecture and urban design are highly regarded by his peers. \n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EGreen is a principal in the Atlanta firm of Lord Aeck Sargent and has taught in the College of Architecture at Georgia Tech since 1992. He was appointed to Professor of Practice in 2008.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EProfessionally he has been involved in numerous residential and commercial projects for over fifteen years. He has extensive experience in community development and land-use issues, and works closely with numerous community development corporations, neighborhood groups and municipalities. \n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EHe received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees from Georgia Tech in 1988 and 1991, respectively.
