All of the details of the different positions can be found on our website. \u0026nbsp;Information on two of the internships is below.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EInternship Location:\u003C\/strong\u003E The programs are based online, so can be undertaken from any location.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EInternship Start Dates:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;The Borgen Project has new programs starting every month, as such applications can be received at any time, through the website. Interns chose the start date that is most appropriate for them.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EMentoring and Supervision:\u003C\/strong\u003E All of the internships have a designated manager who will ensure that interns are offered an induction to the program and then support throughout the internship with regular catch up Skype meetings, training\/discussion sessions, and are a point of contact for any questions or concerns throughout the program. \u0026nbsp;Internships are unpaid but may be eligible for college credit.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022\/\/www.borgenproject.org\u0022\u003EThe Borgen Project\u003C\/a\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EPolitical Affairs Internship\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis is a part-time 14-hours per week, unpaid telecommuting internship. The internship is 4-months and responsible for leading public and political outreach in the state and district assigned to.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u2013 Meet with members of Congress and\/or Congressional staffers in your State and District.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Assist with fundraising. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Mobilize individuals to contact their members of Congress in support of key poverty-reduction legislation.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 As needed, speak to groups, classes and organizations.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Write letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media and other groups.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EQualifications:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/em\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Outstanding writing skills.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Self-starter who can produce great results with limited supervision.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Strong oral communication skills and ability to lead meetings and give speeches.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWriter Internship\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis is a 12-week, part-time, unpaid internship. The selected candidate will be able to work from home and pick their own schedule, but must meet weekly deadlines. Articles submitted will appear on BORGEN Magazine or The Borgen Project Blog.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u2013 Write 2 articles per week.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Research topics.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Assist with advocacy efforts.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Assist with fundraising. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u2013 Attend training and orientation the first and third Monday of the internship, at 4pm PST.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EQualifications:\u003C\/strong\u003E \u003C\/em\u003EStrong research and writing skills. Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines with very little supervision.
