And now, Lam has real staying power -- he was\u0026nbsp;promoted recently to associate professor with tenure in his base of operations, the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering (a joint department of Georgia Tech and Emory).\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;He exemplifies the ethos and culture of the department,\u0026rdquo; notes Ross Ethier, interim chair of the Coulter Department. \u0026ldquo;His lab takes an approach that goes all the way from the basement to the bench to the bedside.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Lam Lab, a team of clinicians, engineers, and biologists, focuses on the application and development of micro\/nanotechnologies to study, diagnose, and treat childhood diseases like cancer.
