{"589668":{"#nid":"589668","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Event Space Reservation System Upgrade Coming Soon","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe Georgia Tech Events Reservation System is upgrading to a new look and feel, which will greatly enhance how users search for and reserve available space on campus. These changes are expected to be available beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 24. To complete the upgrade, the existing system will be taken offline at 5 p.m. on Friday, Apri1 21. Campus users will be unable to book reservations during this shutdown and are encouraged to plan ahead.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Based upon community feedback, it became apparent that the time was right to upgrade our current space reservation system,\u0026rdquo; said Darius Denton, business analyst for Capital Planning and Space Management. \u0026ldquo;The goal is to provide a more user-friendly experience to facilitate the process of finding space on campus.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFor the approximate 25,000 users of the Georgia Tech Events Reservation System, this upgrade will provide a streamlined process for finding rooms. The new flexible search features will enable users to find space without the burden of specifying room setup or attendance parameters during the initial search, giving them a more comprehensive view of available options. In addition, users will also be able to view booking rules, such as new booking cutoff hours, before securing the reservation. These, among many other enhancements, will give the user more control over searching for and reserving event space.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhile all existing reservations will be migrated over to the new system, users should make note of existing space reservations before the system shutdown on Friday, April 21.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EInformation on using the redesigned reservation portal is provided under \u0026quot;Resources\u0026quot; on the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/space.gatech.edu\/event-scheduling\u0022\u003EEvent Scheduling webpage\u003C\/a\u003E.
