589818 news 1491406262 1491406262 <![CDATA[FASET Orientation Parent Panel Volunteers Needed]]> We are currently seeking Georgia Tech parents and family members to sit on the Student and Parent Panel during FASET 2017. New parents and families attending FASET will be able to ask questions to panel members about their Georgia Tech experience. Both local and out-of-state family members are encouraged to volunteer. If you are an out-of-state family member and will be in Atlanta during the times listed below, we would love you to share your experiences with new families!

Topics might include:

Sending your student to a campus located in an urban area
Prepping your student for the transition to college life
Setting expectations with your student about communication – how often and when
Discussing money management with your student, including how much the first year really costs
Learning about the appropriate resources available for your student when he/she asks for help
Encouraging your student to get involved

Student and Parent Panels are from 4:20 - 5:10 p.m. (approximately) on the following days:

Summer Freshman FASET: Wednesday, June 14, Student Center Ballroom

FASET 1: Thursday, July 6, Student Center Ballroom

FASET 2: Monday, July 17, Student Center Ballroom

FASET 3: Thursday, July 20, Student Center Ballroom

FASET 4: Thursday, July 27, Student Center Ballroom

FASET 5: Monday, July 31, Student Center Ballroom

FASET 6: Sunday, August 13, Student Center Ballroom

FASET 7: Tuesday, August 15, Student Center Ballroom
