If so, please take a moment to nominate that individual or unit for the 2017 Diversity Champion Awards.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Diversity Champion Awards recognize faculty, staff, students, and units who significantly demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Georgia Tech community. They will be selected and recognized at the Ninth Annual Diversity Symposium Awards Luncheon on September 6, 2017.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;This year\u0026rsquo;s Diversity Symposium theme is \u0026lsquo;Building Inclusive Campus Communities,\u0026rsquo; and the Diversity Champion Awards will be given to campus community members who are advancing equity at the Institute, particularly at the intersections of race and class,\u0026rdquo; said Archie Ervin, vice president for Institute Diversity.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAward recipients will have demonstrated one or more of the following within the last three years:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ECommitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly at the intersections of race and class.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ELeadership in building an inclusive campus community.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EBehavior that illustrates commitment to the inclusion of persons within the Institute who represent the diversity of the Georgia Tech community.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EOrganized, conducted, and\/or supported events and activities that promote cross-cultural understanding, respect, and inclusion of diverse individuals and groups.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ENominations will be accepted until May 26, 2017.
