The Los Angeles Times talked to Kari Watkins about the collapse of Atlanta's freeway Interstate 85. “This is Atlanta’s chance to show that it can be more than a car-dominated city,” said Kari Watkins, a professor at Georgia Institute of Technology’s school of civil and environmental engineering. “The question is whether there will be permanent change, or if we will just adapt for the moment and then switch back to old habits.”
