Adding to Georgia Tech’s growing reputation in computer systems, School of Computer Science Ph.D. student Ahmed Saeed has been selected as a 2017 Google Ph.D. Fellow in Systems and Networking. Saeed is among just 30 fellowship recipients from institutions in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Saeed works with Professors Mostafa Ammar and Ellen Zegura and his research interests include designing and implementing a new ecosystem for processing and networking for internet of things devices.

National Science Foundation

Katie Cunningham earned an NSF 2017 Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) award. Cunningham is a Ph.D. student in the School of Interactive Computing (School of IC) and will use her award to pursue research in education and learning technology.

Honorable mentions for the 2017 NSF GRFP awards include GT Computing graduate students Tony Shu, David Robinson, Ian Stewart, and Emily Wall.

IBM Research

IBM Research has also selected its 2017-18 Ph.D. Fellowship Award Program recipients. However, although they have been notified, the winners have not been publicly announced by IBM. Once formally published, the winners will be posted here.
