Additionally, the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/heat.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EHeat Lab\u003C\/a\u003E at Georgia Tech specializes on various thermal analyses of materials.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETo increase awareness about the facilities and to provide an\u0026nbsp;introduction to the techniques and instrumentation supported by these user facilities, STAMI is running a workshop on May 22-26, 2017, which is open to all graduate students, postdocs, and visiting scholars in the College of Engineering and the College of Sciences. Workshop I, focused on Polymer Characterization Lab facilities\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFive topics have been selected. See \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/edit.hg.gatech.edu\/sites\/default\/files\/attachments\/STAMI%20Workshop-May%202017-Announcement-v0502.pdf\u0022\u003Efull workshop schedule\u003C\/a\u003E for details and instructors.\u0026nbsp;Each topic will have a designated TA,\u0026nbsp;who will help with hands-on lab activities.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWorkshop will be held on the basis of one tool per day, including lectures on the background theory (9 am \u0026ndash; 12 pm) and hands-on lab activities (1 \u0026ndash; 5 pm).\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EEach instructor will allocate the time for lectures and labs to best fit the topic of the day and provide lecture notes. TAs will prepare the instrument user guides, which will be used during the lab sessions.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWorkshop attendees should follow the Lab Safety Rules:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EAlways wear safety glasses.
