Selected for its artistry, the way that it reflects the landscape and hardscape of the environment, and the research and study that is performed in the facility, the piece is made of rectangular steel tubing with a polyurethane protective coating.  It measures 19’H x 10’D x 9.5’W.

Sculptor Robert Winkler has exhibited his work in eight solo shows in New York and North Carolina. He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Ohio State University, the Art Institute of Boston, and the School of Visual Arts, New York. Public art collections featuring his work include Carolina Square, Chapel Hill, NC; City of Durham, NC; City of Charleston, SC; Queens University, Charlotte, NC and Cleveland Institute of Art Permanent Collection, Cleveland, OH.

In speaking about his work Winkler states, "My works begin as ideas, based on mathematics, movement and repetition. Realizing them reflects the interaction of imagination and precise engineering, combined with the skill of the human hand. As a sculptor, my goal is to manipulate volume, mass and balance to create a sense of movement."

The site-specific outdoor sculpture was recommended by the Public Art Committee of the Georgia Tech Arts Advisory Board.
