{"592020":{"#nid":"592020","#data":{"type":"event","title":"Education for the City We Need: Exploring How to Integrate the UN-Habitat New Urban Agenda in Higher Education Curricula.","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EBetween 7 and 9 June 2017, the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment of the TU Delft\u0026nbsp;will organise an Urban Thinkers\u0026rsquo; Campus (UTC ) on\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\u0026nbsp;Higher Education for the New Urban Agenda\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003E.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003ENew Urban Agenda\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;is the outcome document agreed upon at the\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/citiscope.org\/habitatIII\/explainer\/2015\/06\/what-habitat-iii\u0022 rel=\u0022noopener noreferrer\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EHabitat III cities conference\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;in Quito, Ecuador, in October 2016 and signed by all the UN member states.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe NUA will guide the efforts \u0026nbsp;of a wide range of actors around urbanisation\u0026nbsp;\u0026mdash; nation states, city and regional leaders, international development funders and civil society \u0026mdash; for the next 20 years.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAfter the enactment of the document, attention has shifted towards\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003EIMPLEMENTATION\u003C\/strong\u003E: how to implement its principles? \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWe believe that universities have a special role in preparing young professional to face the\u0026nbsp;challenge of making our cities sustainable, prosperous, fair and inclusive\u003C\/strong\u003E. But in order to do so, \u0026nbsp;we are reaching out to\u0026nbsp;stakeholders from the\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003Eacademic and\u0026nbsp;educational worlds\u003C\/strong\u003E, as well as\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003ENGOs\u003C\/strong\u003E,\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003Ecompanies\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;and\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003Egovernment\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;agencies, to discuss how\u0026nbsp;best to teach and learn issues related to and stemming from the New Urban Agenda.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe TU Delft UTC will discuss\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003Estrategies, methodologies, literature and practical\u0026nbsp;exercises that can be implemented in higher education courses in Europe and elsewhere\u003C\/strong\u003E.
