How they do that may involve some unique flamingo biomechanics, according to a new study on the elegant birds from School of Biological Sciences professor Young-Hui Chang and Wallace H. Coulter Dept. of Biomedical Engineering professor Lena Ting. Their work also suggests a possible reason why these birds engage in this habit.
