  <body><![CDATA[<p>John Krige, Ph.D., Kranzberg Professor in the School of History and Sociology, reflects on the importance of understanding the historical roots of scientific and technological developments in a special article for Spring/Summer 2017 issue of&nbsp;<a href="http://georgiahistory.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/GHT_06_02_17.pdf" target="_blank"><em>Georgia History Today</em></a>, a publication of the Georgia Historical Society. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Krige discusses the importance of understanding the historical origins of scientific and technological developments, as well as the emergence of scientific &ldquo;truths&rdquo; through the &ldquo;cut-and-thrust of disputes among experts.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>
