The coauthored article with Michael Wallace and Todd Vachon\u0026nbsp;uses data from 18 nations from 1981 to 2011 to examine the ways that the growth of finance has contributed to rising inequality of market incomes while often simultaneously reduced the ability of the welfare states in affluent nations to decrease\u0026nbsp;inequality through redistribution.
