{"596040":{"#nid":"596040","#data":{"type":"event","title":"Exploring SenseMaker to Understand Academic and Community Ecosystems with Dave Snowden and Jules Yim","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EServe-Learn-Sustain, the Center for 21st Century Universities, and the Atlanta UN Regional Centeres of Expertise network (UN RCE) are proud to announce a half+half day workshop with Dave Snowden and Jules Yim from the Cynefin Centre for Applied Complexity. \u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003EExploring SenseMaker to Understand Academic and Community Ecosystems\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/em\u003Ewill start at the Tech Square Research Building (TSRB) with a keynote talk on September 28 from noon-1pm and continue in a location TBD through the afternoon and again on Friday, September 29 in the morning. The goal of the workshop is to convene an interdisiciplinary group to explore systemic issues in higher education and community engagement from the lens of complexity science and using some of the capabilities of\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/cognitive-edge.com\/sensemaker\/\u0022\u003ESenseMaker\u003C\/a\u003E. This tool and method represents a radical new paradigm in thinking - one with potentially significant relevance for higher education.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe workshop will be structured to best utilize our time together.\u0026nbsp; On the afternoon of the 28th, Dave and Jules will provide a thorough overview of SenseMaker to familiarize everyone with the capabilities and limitations of this tool. They will take us more deeply into several case studies where SenseMaker has been used with compelling results. We will facilitate interest groups in identifying questions that may SenseMaker help us understand.\u0026nbsp;On the 29th, we will spend the morning in discussion with Dave and in smaller affinity groups, developing potential projects for these challenges.
