  <title><![CDATA[Ph.D Candidate John Schmid Publishes Article in Science and Public Policy]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Sam Nunn School of International Affairs Ph.D. candidate <a href="https://inta.gatech.edu/people/person/90f5997b-117c-5334-9773-9b78bebb00d7">Jon Schmid</a> has coauthored a piece with Sergey Kolesnikov and Jan Youtie, both from the <a href="https://spp.gatech.edu">School of Public Policy</a> at Georgia Tech. The article titled, &ldquo;<a href="https://academic.oup.com/spp/article/doi/10.1093/scipol/scx051/4139726/Plans-versus-experiences-in-transitioning">Plans versus experiences in transitioning transnational education into research and economic development: a case study</a>&rdquo; was recently published in <em>Science and Public Policy</em>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jon obtained his bachelors in Economics and International Affairs from American University and his masters in Finance from George Washington University. Prior to starting his doctoral degree, he worked as a consultant for three years at an economic development consulting firm. Jon&rsquo;s current research focuses on military technology innovation and determinants of national innovative productivity.&nbsp;</p>
