Last month, the National Science Foundation (NSF) released a \u0026quot;Dear Colleague\u0026quot; letter calling for proposals related to Hurricane Irma:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\u0026ldquo;Now that the consequences of these disasters are upon us, new science and engineering questions are being raised. Through\u0026nbsp;this Dear Colleague Letter, NSF encourages the submission of proposals that seek to address the challenges related to\u0026nbsp;Hurricane Irma. NSF also will support fundamental science and engineering research projects whose results may enable our\u0026nbsp;country to better prepare for, respond to, recover from, or mitigate future catastrophic events.
