<![CDATA[CQGRD’s Megaregion Study Highlighted by Planning Group]]>
The megaregion concept is transitioning from planning theory to planning practice. Georgia Tech's Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development (CQGRD) in partnership with the American Planning Association (APA) examined opportunities for and barriers to addressing megaregions in local and regional long-range plans.
The groups also highlighted areas where megaregional considerations can be incorporated.
The result, “Multimodal Planning at the Megaregional Scale,” reviews these findings and includes case studies of successful interregional and megaregional collaboration.
The study was done with funding from the Federal Highway Administration.
The report, partially authored by CQGRD’s Catherine Ross and Sarah Smith, is also featured on the website of the APA.
