His most recent book \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/alanbalfour.com\/books\/temple_mount\/\u0022\u003E\u003Cem\u003ESOLOMON\u0026#39;S TEMPLE, Myth, Conflict and Faith\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E (Wiley-Blackwell, 2012) studies the constructive and destructive power of faith present in the myths and realities of one place Temple Mount in Jerusalem. He writes on architecture and politics during Fascism and the post-war movements on the 1960s, especially the Internationale Situationniste. A native of Italy and two-time Fulbright scholar, from 1994 to 2011 he was Director of Georgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s Paris Program at the Ecole d\u0026rsquo;Architecture de Paris-La Villette in Paris, France. Andreotti\u0026rsquo;s books include Spielraum: Benjamin et L\u0026rsquo;Architecture (Paris, Editions La Villette 2011), Le Grand Jeu a Venir: Ecrits situationnistes sur la ville (Paris, \u0026nbsp;Editions la Villette 2007), Situationists: Art, Politics, Urbanism, with Xavier Costa, based on the exhibition he curated at the MACBA in 1996 (Barcelona, ACTAR 1996), and Theory of the Derive and Other Situationist Writings on the City (Barcelona, ACTAR 1996). \u0026nbsp;Most recently, along with Peggy Deamer, David Cunningham, Erick Swyngedouw, and Joan Ockman, he co-authored Can Architecture be an Emancipatory Project? Dialogues on Architecture and the Left, edited by Nadir Lahiji (London: Zerobooks 2015). Professor Andreotti\u0026rsquo;s essays and projects have appeared in October, Grey Room, Lotus International, Japan Architect, and JAE. Russell Gentry","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003ERussell Gentry is an Associate Professor of Architecture with a courtesy appointment in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He teaches courses in building structures and materials, fabrication technologies, and design and construction process. He is the faculty mentor for the 2013 class of the Georgia Tech Presidential Scholars.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHis current research focuses on the representation of fabrication logics and processes within BIM environments. His current projects, funded by the Department\u0026nbsp;of Energy, include the design of innovative PV systems and the design of modular components for nuclear reactors. Dr. Gentry is also the project lead\u0026nbsp;for the Building Information Modeling for Masonry or BIM-M Initiative at Georgia Tech. His work includes the development of methods, measures and software for the analysis of built space at the scale of buildings and urban areas. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the General Services Administration, the Ministry of Research in Greece, the Georgia Tech Foundation, Steelcase, Perkins+Will and Dar Al-Handasah. He is internationally recognized in promoting professional use of building simulation and has served on the board of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA). In the nineties he coordinated four major EU-funded consortia of academic and industrial partners in the fields of design tool interoperability (COMBINE, 1990-1995), energy performance simulation, outsourcing and project planning (e-HUBS, 2002-2005).\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAugenbroe has been main advisor of 30+ PhD graduates in Europe and the USA. He teaches graduate courses and conducts research in the fields of building performance concepts, computational building simulation, indoor air quality, intelligent building systems, uncertainty and risk, system monitoring and diagnostics. \u0026nbsp;He serves on the scientific board of five international journals and has published over 200 refereed papers and three books.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAugenbroe has obtained major research grants in Europe and the US. Most recently he received the NSF EFRI-SEED award \u201cRisk conscious design and retrofit of buildings for low energy\u201d, $2.0 Million, 2010-2014. With his Rotterdam-based office NOX he built the \u003Cem\u003ED-Tower\u003C\/em\u003E, an interactive structure changing color with the emotions of the inhabitants of a city (in collaboration with Q. S. Serafijn), and the\u003Cem\u003E Son-O-house\u003C\/em\u003E, a public artwork that generates music by visitors exploring the space (in collaboration with Edwin van der Heide). In Lille, France, he built a cluster of cultural buildings (\u003Cem\u003EMaison Folies\u003C\/em\u003E) in 2004. His research has attracted recognition and funding from Columbia University\u2019s Buell Center for Architecture, Cornell University\u2019s John Nolen Fellowship, the Society of Architectural Historians, and the Hagley Museum and Library.
