As part of this bimonthly processing, Special   Topics identifies the Research Fronts that are appearing for the first time   in each of the \u003Ca href=\u0022void(0)\u0022\u003E22   major fields covered\u003C\/a\u003E\u003Cem\u003E               by Essential Science Indicators. \u003C\/em\u003EA   new Front consists of core papers not previously included in any prior Front.   We list here the most prominent of this new crop for each of the 22 fields   as determined by the number of core papers they contain and the citations received.
