He is also former executive director of The\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Logistics Institute.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\n  The Joseph G. Wohl Award is the Society\u0026rsquo;s highest award, given for career\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  service to the systems community, the IEEE, and\/or the SMC Society. The award\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  is not given annually; it is only presented when there is a uniquely qualified\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  nominee, says Pierre Borne, Society Awards Chair and Professor \u0026quot;de classe\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  exceptionnelle\u0026quot; at the Ecole Centrale de Lille, France. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026quot;These awards are attributed after a call for nominations by a committee,\u0026quot; says\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Borne. \u0026quot;This year seven persons were nominated for the Award, and Chip\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  White was chosen with a strong majority,\u0026quot; he added. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EWhite was honored at the Society\u0026rsquo;s International Conference held in\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Hawaii this October. In the past, he has received the Society\u0026rsquo;s prestigious\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Norbert Wiener Award, given for technical contributions in the areas of Systems,\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  Humans, and\/or Cybernetics. Former ISyE chair William Rouse, now executive\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  director of Georgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s Tennenbaum Institute for Enterprise Transformation,\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  is also recipient of both awards.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026quot;I am delighted to receive the Wohl award and deeply appreciate having\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  the opportunity to contribute to the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  throughout my professional career,\u0026quot; says White. \u0026quot;The Society has\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  had significant impact on the Systems Engineering profession, and I am proud\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n  to be part of this.
