Cobb, a professor in the <a href="http://eas.gatech.edu/">School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences</a> with expertise in coral reefs, has seen the damage of coral bleaching up close during dives to observe ecosystems near Hawaii in connection with her research. In this story, Cobb responds to a recent <a href="http://science.sciencemag.org/content/359/6371/80">study</a> on the frequency of extreme bleaching events.
