Prvulovic is taking over for Professor \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.scs.gatech.edu\/people\/10892\/alessandro-orsos\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAlessandro Orso\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E, who held the position for three years.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe associate chair\u0026rsquo;s main function is to act as stand-in when the chair is out. The role also requires managing faculty logistics, such as allocating offices and planning teaching schedules. Prvulovic\u0026rsquo;s goal is to streamline this process.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;It\u0026rsquo;s an opportunity to see how the school works because even though I\u0026rsquo;ve been here since I graduated with my Ph.D. in 2003, all I knew was the faculty side of things,\u0026rdquo; Prvulovic said. \u0026ldquo;I felt like it was time to learn more.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EPrvulovic joined the College of Computing in 2003 and has become one of the school\u0026rsquo;s most prominent computer architects. His research focuses on runtime program monitoring, security analysis, debugging, and hardware performance modeling and security.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMost recently, he is developing a \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.scs.gatech.edu\/news\/556931\/monitoring-side-channel-signals-could-detect-malicious-software-iot-devices\u0022\u003Enew technique\u003C\/a\u003E for wirelessly monitoring Internet of Things (IoT) devices for malicious software by analyzing side-channel attacks. These attacks exploit electromagnetic emissions produced unintentionally by IoT devices during operations.
