Urban built form plays a crucial role in energy consumption, hence planning energy-efficient cities requires thoughtful design at multiple scales: from buildings, to neighborhoods, to cities.

This research forum will feature a group of College of Design faculty who are working to advance research in energy and climate-sensitive environments from multiple perspectives.

The forum will underscore the importance of an integrated approach to energy- and climate-sensitive design across scales.

Forum participants:

• Godfried Augenbroe, professor in the School of Architecture and director of the High Performance Building Lab
• Subhro Guhathakurta (moderating), professor in the School of City and Regional Planning, and director of the Center for Spatial Planning Analytics and Visualization
• Evan Mallen (subbing for Brian Stone), Ph.D. student in the School of City and Regional Planning, and a researcher in the Urban Climate Lab with Brian Stone
• Perry Yang, associate professor in the School of City and Regional Planning and the School of Architecture; and director of the Eco Urban Lab

The forum will take place in the Architecture Library on the first floor of Architecture West.
