In each case, the presentation is scheduled for the first day of the visit, at 11 a.m. in room 222 of the Global Learning Center. \n\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EBrief biographies of the three finalists follow. Ervin, Associate Provost for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill\n\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EIn his current role at Chapel Hill, Ervin works with all academic deans and other senior administrative staff to address the university\u2019s diversity goals and priorities. He also serves as director of the Office for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, which has responsibilities for recruitment and outreach programs to enhance diversity and inclusion, multicultural educational programs, diversity assessment, consultation, and education for faculty, staff, and student communities. He chaired a task force on diversity whose findings were used to draft Chapel Hill\u2019s first university-wide diversity action plan. Ervin earned bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees in political science from Appalachian State University, and a PhD in educational organizations and policy studies from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill.\n\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ESallye McKee, Former Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement, University of Colorado, Boulder\n\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EMcKee has more than twenty-five years of administrative and teaching experiences providing leadership to enhance diversity and inclusive excellence in diverse public and private settings in higher education. She has received recognition for her work in service learning and the development of campus climates that foster diversity and inclusion. Prior to her most recent role at the University of Colorado, she held similar leadership roles at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities), the University of Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and Bowling Green State University (Ohio). McKee holds master\u2019s and doctoral degrees in curriculum\/instruction and educational psychology from the Universities of Chicago and Minnesota, respectively, as well as a bachelor\u2019s degree in French\/secondary education from Morris Brown College in Atlanta.\n\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAnthony J. Walesby, Associate Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs and Senior Director of the Office of Institutional Equity, University of Michigan\n\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EWalesby has created nationally recognized programs that provide definitions and examples of various forms of discrimination and harassment, and address hate and bias-related matters. Before joining the University of Michigan, Walesby was an assistant provost and associate director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access at the University of Illinois, where he created and implemented a variety of programs. Prior to his career in higher education, he served as a federal investigator for both the U.S. Department of Education\u2019s Office for Civil Rights and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
