The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) plans to monitor multidimensional poverty in developed countries and invited Dhongde to talk about her research on poverty in the U.S.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDhongde\u0026rsquo;s paper, published in\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s11205-016-1379-1\u0022\u003E\u003Cem\u003ESocial Indicators Research\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E, is the first to estimate multidimensional deprivation in the U.S. during the Great Recession. Results from the analysis indicate that the proportion of the population that is deprived in multiple dimensions\u0026nbsp;averages about 15 percent and exceeds the prevalence of poverty as measured by income.
