On April 24 from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM in Klaus 2405, Dr. Patrick Ellis will discuss "Teaching Optical Toys: Now and Then." This talk explores the ongoing pedagogical potential of optical toys such as stereoscopes, zoetropes, and camera obscuras. As a case study, Dr. Ellis will describe an exhibit of optical toys at retroTECH that he curated and a related assignment in which his ENGL 1102 students produced their own optical toys.
